Dengue larvae were checked at various places in Block Manawala under the every Friday Dengue and War campaign.

Under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Amritsar Dr. Kirandeep Kaur Ji, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Manjit Singh Rataul, under the able guidance of various nurseries, vacant plots and under-construction buildings, dengue mosquito awareness and larvae were also checked.

Under the Every Friday – Dengue and War campaign launched by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab Government, field staff of Community Health Center Manawala, M.P.H. V (M), ASHA workers and nursing students checked the standing water and dengue larvae in plant nurseries, vacant plots and under-construction buildings in different villages and areas and informed the people present about the symptoms of dengue and its prevention.

On this occasion, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Manjit Singh Rataul said that being aware about dengue is one way to prevent it, so it is the duty of all of us to implement the information received from the health department in such awareness campaigns from time to time. Dr. Rataul said that to prevent dengue, it is very important that water should not be allowed to accumulate in coolers, flower pots, trays and other unused containers, old tires at home and at least one day in a week should be celebrated as a dry day and standing water should be cleaned. Use clothes that cover the entire body so that mosquitoes cannot bite. He said that if symptoms like high fever, headache, muscle pain, pain behind the eyes appear, then treatment can be done at the nearest government hospital without any delay and absolutely free of cost. On this occasion, the medical team included Dr. Navreet Kaur, Block Educator Saurav Sharma, SI Ajmer Singh, SI Harjit Singh, Prince, Kanwardeep Singh along with all the male health workers and ASHA workers.
