The martyrdom day of the crown of martyrs, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, was celebrated with great devotion and spirit at St. Soldier Elite Convent School Jandiala Guru.
First, the children sang the shabads related to the martyrdom of the Gurus in the school assembly, after which Gurleen Kaur, a student of class X, told about the biography of Guru Sahib Ji through her words.
Later, a Kirtan Darbar was organized in the school auditorium regarding the martyrdom day, in which first the children recited Sri Japji Sahib Ji in congregation, after which the children of the school delighted the congregation through Gurbani Kirtan. The children sang the beautiful shabad “Tatti Tavi Te Sitsa Hai Koi Shahanshah Jaape” and made their presence felt at the feet of Guru Sahib Ji and colored the atmosphere in the color of Gurbani. Later, Rahmatdeep Kaur, a child of LKG class of the kindergarten section, presented a very heartfelt poem on the occasion of Shaheed Purab. Along with this, Seerat Kaur, a student of class VIII of the school, also praised Guru Sahib Ji through poetry. Later, the children were made aware of the history of the martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji through a PPT visual. On this occasion, the Managing Director of the school, Dr. Mangal Singh Kishanpuri Ji, made the children aware of the martyrdom history of the Guru Sahibs and asked them to go to Gurdwara Sahib and pay homage on the martyrdom day. On this occasion, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Amarpreet Kaur Ji, said that it is very important to celebrate the days of Guru Sahibs in schools so that our coming generation comes to know the history of the Gurus and the coming generation can know how many sacrifices our Gurus made for us. Let us remember those great Guru Sahibs who gave martyrdom for us and the Sikh community. On this occasion, a chabeel of cold sweet water was also arranged for all the congregation. On this occasion, the Vice Principal of the school Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur Ji, Shilpa Sharma, Coordinator Nilakshi Gupta, all the staff and children were present.
