As per the directions of the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Punjab, National Dengue Day was celebrated by Community Health Center Manawala under the National Vector Borne Diseases Program. Under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Amritsar Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, this National Dengue Day was celebrated under the able leadership of District Epidemiologist Dr. Harjot Kaur and Senior Medical Officer Dr. Navreet Kaur.
On the occasion of National Dengue Day, a seminar was organized in various villages of CHC Manawala for awareness in which the district level team of Assistant Malaria Officer Baljit Singh, Salwinder Singh, Kanwar Balraj Singh and all Multipurpose Health Supervisors (Male) and Male Health Workers of Block Manawala participated. On this occasion, people were made aware about the causes, treatment and precautions of dengue fever.
Giving information about this, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Navreet Kaur said that the Health Department celebrates Dengue Te Vaar every Friday, under which people should not let water accumulate around their houses. She appealed to the people that the standing water in and around their houses should be dried so that mosquito larvae cannot be produced. Dr. Navreet Kaur said that Aedes mosquitoes breed in clean water during the day, and their bites cause dengue fever. Therefore, it is important that we do not let water accumulate in our homes. Keep the body covered, in case of symptoms like high fever, body ache, severe headache, pain on eye movement, nosebleeds, get yourself checked at a government hospital as soon as possible. He said that fever survey should be ensured in dengue positive case areas and fogging can be done there with the help of local governments.
On this occasion, SI, Block Extension Educator Saurav Sharma shared his views on the topic “Check, Clean, Cover: Take steps to defeat dengue”. He said that the goal of the health department is to make Punjab dengue free. This can be done only when people in villages and cities are aware of it.
On this occasion, SI Harjinderpal Singh, SI Harjit Singh Jandiala, SI Ajmer Singh, Prince, Rana Satpal Singh, Bikramjit Singh, male health worker and all health workers of the block participated.
