Panchkula, ( Mahinder Pal ) : Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Kumari Selja has said One of the top priorities of the Indian National Congress is to restore peace and harmony amongst all sections of the society which has been shred to pieces by the BJP Government across the State and Nation. The Khattar government has done little to restore the faith of the people in the Constitution of India after successive events which divide the nation, state and people on communal lines and provokes uncalled for hatred have hit the state regularly. Khattar Government is guilty of allowing the thread of harmony to shred repeatedly by their acts of Omission and Commission in the state and Gian Chand Gupta is guilty of the same in Panchkula.
While launching a scathing attack on the Khattar Government Kumari Selja said, they have not kept even 1 of the 154 promises they had made in their 2014 Election Manifesto. She blamed the incumbent government for exposing Haryana to Drug Menace and also lamented that not a single BPL card has been added during their regeime rather names have been stuck off the list. She said that, the Bhartiya Jumla Party (BJP) govt only works for the crony capitalists and rich while ignoring the poor. Only INC cared for the poor and all sections of the society alike. She said if voted to power INC will provide Rs 5100 per month as the old age pension to the people of the State. She also gave people 9355333011 as a telephone number to reach the Congress Manifesto, which even includes free buse service for women.
While asking people of Panchkula to vote and support, Chander Mohan whole heartedly, Selja said Chander Mohan is the only hope for the people of Panchkula who have imposed faith on him in the past too by electing him not once or twice but 4 consecutive times from the erstwhile Kalka Constituency from which the present Panchkula Constituency has been carved. State Congress President Kumari Selja was addressing a public meeting in favour of Congress candidate Chander Mohan in Panchkula Sector 16 on Friday.
Former Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal also addressed the public meeting in favour of Chander Mohan along with Ku. Selja and scores of Congress Leaders from Panchkula and Chandigarh. Bansal recalled his long association with the Bhajan Lal family and how Panchkula District was Bhajan Lal Ji’s gift to the people of the area. He also appealed for overwhelming support to Chander Mohan. He also reminded people of Bhajan Lal Ji’s dream of making Panchkula, the Paris of Haryana and assured them that Chander Mohan will put in all his might to full fill his father’s dreams.
Before this, Kumari Selja had also done door to door campaign in Khadak Mongoli. Everywhere she went people greeted her warmly and assured her that they will send Chander Mohan to the Haryana Assembly with a thumping Victory.
Later, at the public meeting both senior Congress leaders and Chander Mohan targeted Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and said that the people of the state are extremely angry with the way the government has functioned in the last five years. Chief Minister Manohar Lal has done nothing for the development of the state and instead has indulged in divisive politics. The Indian National Congress, under the Presidentship of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi at the National Level and Ku. Selja at the State level are committed to bring back peace, prosperity and development to Haryana, as soon as the INC is voted to power.
Congress candidate Chander Mohan while addressing the public meeting said that the BJP has ignored Panchkula’s development. People have been forced to live in inhuman conditions, subjected to curfews, watch rioting and police firing for no fault of theirs. Even the promised shifting of the Dumping ground never took place. It has not been shifted, thousands of people face traffic jams everyday at the intersections and under the fly overs across the city. Roads are in pathetic conditions, Stray Cattle Menace has still not been addressed. People have been people cheated in the name of Medical College, no university was given to Panchkula, as was promised. Chander Mohan appealed to the people that this is their own election, so they should vote in favor of the Congress. On this occasion, Shashi Sharma, Siddharth Bishnoi, Ravindra Rawal, Devendra Babla, Councillor Mukesh Bassi, former Mayor Surendra Singh, Councillor Gurbax Rawat, State Congress Chief Spokesperson Bajrang Das Garg, senior leader Pratap Chaudhary, Haryana Women’s Congress President Sudha Bhardwaj, Ranjeeta Mehta, Sanjeev Bhardwaj, former councillor Kuljeet Warech, Rajendra Kakkar, Bhavna Gupta, Pawan Mittal, Jalmegha Dahiya, Lily Bawa, Mukesh Malhotra, Kuldeep Chitkara, Munshi Ram Arora, Subhash Papaneja, Dalbir Valmiki, Ramprasad, Prem Kumar, RB Pahuja, Harendra Saini, Anita Tiwari, Mahendra Noori, Sharanji , Subhash Nishad, Shamsher Singh, Sunita Devi, Amarjeet Singh, OP Taneja, Vijay Sharma, Kartar Ehlahwadi and scores of other Congress leaders and thousands of workers were also present.
