CJI Justice Surya Kant to attend six events in Hissar, visit ancestral village Petwar

Hisar: Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant, who began his legal career at the Hisar Bar, is scheduled to attend around six official events here on Jan 9 and 10. The district administration has intensified preparations for his visit, although the official tour programme is yet to to be formally released.

According to available information, the CJI will arrive in in Hisar around noon on Jan 9. From the airport, he will proceed to attend a function organised by the Hansi Bar Association, followed by a programme at the Hisar Bar Association. During the event in Hisar, he will lay the foundation stone for a new advocates’ chamber block. A state dinner is arranged in his honour later that evening at a city hotel.

On Jan 10, the Chief Justice will inaugurate the newly constructed court complexes at Barwala and Narnaund. He will also participate in an alumni meet at the Old Govt College in Hisar on the same day. Subsequently, he will visit his ancestral village, Petwar, where a felicitation ceremony will be organised at the village school. Union law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini are also expected to attend the event. The CJI, is scheduled to have lunch in the village.

Elaborate state dinner planned. An elaborate vegetarian menu featuring nearly 50 dishes is planned for the state dinner. The spread will include paneer roulade, sarson ka saag, dal makhani, dry vegetable jalfrezi, stuffed potato mushroom, Sri Lankan vegetable curry, and seasonal vegetables. Snacks such as gol gappas, dahi bhalla, papdi chaat, and tawa vegetables will also be served, along with tea, beet coffee, garlic dal tadka, and four varieties of pasta. Besides this, nine types of rotis, including tawa roti, makki ki roti, tandoori roti, plain, stuffed and garlic naan lachha paratha, missi roti, and onion roti, will be offered offered. Desserts will feature saffron rasmalai, chocolate brownie with hot chocolate sauce, truffle butterscotch pastry, gajar ka halwa, jalebi with hot milk, American nuts, and mango ice cream.
