29 crore rupees spent till now during the financial year 2024-25 under Magnarega scheme-Deputy Commissioner

 Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme aims to provide livelihood security to the lowland people and under this every job holder is provided 100 days of employment in a year so that they can properly support their family.  .

  Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Madam Sakshi Sahni said that 60 common water tanks have been completed under the Magnarega scheme and 8 out of 57 Anganwadi buildings have been completed and the rest are in progress.  During the financial year 2024-25, from the month of April 2024 till now, about 29 crore rupees have been spent, out of which about 22 crore rupees have been spent on labor and 7 crore rupees have been spent on material works.

              Giving more information, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rural Development Mrs. Paramjit Kaur said that 128634 members of total 103481 families have been registered under this scheme and during the financial year 2024-25, employment has been provided to 25262 families and about 80 from 1113 families.  The benefit has been taken as more days of employment.  Construction of common water tank, construction of Anganwadi building, plantation works, berm works of rural link roads, construction of cattle sheds and cleaning of canals/drains in various Gram Panchayats in District Amritsar under MG NREGA scheme.  He said that under Magnarega, every person is given 322/- rupees per hour.
