Police of Jandiala police station busted extortion gang, 5 accused arrested within 24 hours.

Charanjit Singh SSP Rural told in a press conference that Sukhdev Singh son of Jagtar Singh resident of Taragarh Talawa who is a RMP doctor by profession and runs a medical shop in village Nangal Guru. In the complaint given to the police, he told that on 20th August he received calls from an unknown foreign number. Which he did not receive. Then on the night of 22nd August, when Sukhdev Singh was closing his doctor’s shop and was returning home on his motorcycle, two unknown youth on a motorcycle stopped him on his way and threatened to kill him and his son at gunpoint if he did not receive their calls and did not pay the ransom of Rs. 5 lakhs. Even after this, Rs. 3 lakhs were given to Sukhdev Singh by the accused in Bhinder village and the remaining Rs. 2 lakhs were to be given. In this regard, a case was registered at Police Station Jandiala and under the leadership of DSP Jandiala Guru and Inspector Mukhtiyar Singh, different teams conducted a detailed and technical investigation of the case and within 24 hours exposed the 7 member ransom gang and arrested 5 accused and recovered from them country made pistol 315 bore, Pulsar motorcycle used in the crime, XUV car and ransom amount of Rs 1.5 lakh.

It is worth mentioning that these accused used to extort ransom from local people by taking names of infamous gangsters. They have been identified as Gurinder Singh son of Gurmeet Singh resident of Nangal Guru district Amritsar, Manpreet Singh alias Preet son of Iqbal Singh resident of Jalalabad district Tarn Taran, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi son of Rajpal Singh resident of Jalalabad district Tarn Taran, Sumandeep Singh. The arrested persons were identified as Simma son of Mangal Singh resident of village Khan Chhabdi district Tarn Taran and Sharanpreet Singh alias Sharan son of Jasbir Singh resident of Khela district Tarn Taran. Their two accomplices Simranjit Singh Sima son of Jagtar Singh resident of Botal Kidi district Tarn Taran and Ramandeep Singh alias Ramma resident of Chatiwind district Amritsar, who are absconding will be arrested soon.
