Unexpected inspection of Chief Engineer Border Zone’s office by Power Minister

 – Appreciated the performance shown by the electricity department in summer

 Electricity Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO today checked the Chief Engineer Border Zone office of the local PSPCL and while checking the presence of the officials and employees there also interacted with the consumers who came to get the work done.  He also took opinions from those people about the working of the department and listened to their conversations.  On this occasion, the Minister of Power Harbhajan Singh also listened to the problems of the officials and employees present and while appreciating the better performance shown by the power department in the summer season, said that this time the record supply department has given uninterruptedly.

 The Power Minister said that this year PSPCL has successfully met the record high power demand of 3626 lakh units in a single day on 16th July.  He said that despite the monsoon, there was a huge increase in power demand in the state due to humid conditions and heavy rains, but due to the planning and efficient resource management of the power department, the power demand has been met.   S: The ETO informed that good results have been achieved during the state-wide checking campaign conducted with the aim of detecting electricity theft and promoting energy conservation.  He said that during this campaign, 50781 electricity connections were checked, electricity theft was detected in 3349 cases and penalties of Rs 7.66 crore were imposed.  He appealed to all electricity consumers to use electricity wisely and report any case of electricity theft immediately so that electricity theft can be prevented.
