ETO distributed checks of assistance amount of Rs. 4 thousand per month to 44 children for education

Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO today distributed checks to provide financial assistance of 4 thousand rupees per month to the children of 44 needy families for education. He said that the Punjab government is helping every child for education according to their need and today, under the Mission Vatsalya scheme, District Child Protection Unit Amritsar has started giving a benefit of Rs. 4000/- per month to the children of needy families under the sponsorship scheme. . He said that widows, children of divorced families, orphans who are staying with their relatives, children whose parents are victims of a life-threatening disease, families who are unable to take care of their children financially and physically. Under this scheme, financial assistance is selected. He directed that the children of as many needy families as possible should be given financial benefits by linking them with this scheme so that they can continue their studies.: ETO said that the main objective of the government of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is to raise the level of education. He said that schools of eminence are being built by our government. Where children are being provided better education and facilities than private schools. He said that the day is not far when the state will be number one in the field of education. S: ETO distributed checks worth 19.32 lakh rupees to needy children today. It is to be noted that in this amount, some amount was due for pending cases which has been distributed today.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ghansham Thori said that the children who are registered under the PM Care Scheme, the children who come under protection and care according to the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, such as child laborers, child victims of child marriage, HIV Children suffering from natural calamities, abused or exploited children, child beggars are included, but they are going to school, they can get their registration by taking necessary documents. Provided that the annual income of these families does not exceed 72,000 (rural area and 96,000 urban area). The Deputy Commissioner said that these families can fill the form to avail the benefit of the scheme along with their required documents like child’s Aadhaar card, attested report from school, birth certificate, attested report from Sarpanch and Councillor. He said that for any assistance in this regard, they can contact the office of District Child Protection Unit, District Administrative Complex, Second Floor Room No. 238. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the benefit of this scheme will be extended to every needy family and people will also be made aware of this scheme.
On this occasion Assistant Commissioner General Mrs. Gursimran Kaur, Assistant Commissioner Madam Sonam, District Program Officer Mrs. Hardeep Kaur, Member of Child Welfare Committee Advocate Mr. Manarjan Sharma, District Child Protection Officer Mr. Tarunjit Singh, Madam Neha and other officials were also present.
