Police foiled the Roko movement by Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar demanding the release of Sikhs detained in jail.

 Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar called for Rail Roko Andolan in support of the shift of Sikhs detained in Dibrugarh Jail to the jails of Punjab and the dharna organized by their families. In this regard, Amritsar Rural Police raided the mansion and village of Jandiala Guru.  Devidaspura, which is situated near the railway track, was blocked at various places.  Some Sikh leaders, including 7-8 people including Bhai Jasbir Singh Bachde, Upkar Singh Sandhu, were detained by the police in village Devidaspura. Giving information, Sikh leader Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Mehta said that Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar Simranjit of Rail Roko movement.  It was done by Singh Mann Group. He said that Amritpal Singh and his associates should be shifted from there to Punjab jail in Dibrugarh jail and they should be given bail.  Apart from this, there are many Sikhs detained in the jails of Punjab whose sentence has been completed but they are not being released. By behaving like this, the government is doing injustice to the Sikhs.

 While SSP Rural Satinder Singh said that the atmosphere is peaceful and trains are running. Some people had come and have been taken into preventive custody by the police.
