Demonstration was held from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon by making all vehicles passing through GT Road Nijjarpura toll plaza free of toll, demanding a permanent ban on unauthorised vehicles plying across Punjab.United Trade Union and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Welfare Association leaders District Pradhan Rajinder Singh, Amritsar Dehati Pradhan Sahib Singh and Ajnala Pradhan Gokhnath while talking said that their vehicles like small elephants and pickup vehicles pay all the taxes imposed by the government. Apart from this, even when the vehicle is bought from the company, they pay all the taxes and GST. Not only this, such vehicles cause accidents on the roads every day because they are not manufactured by any company but by local artisans. Because of this, there is a lot of hindrance in their employment, they are suffering a lot financially due to not getting work.DSP Jandiala Sucha Singh reached on this occasion and talked to the protestors and assured them that their matter will be resolved. A meeting will be held with DC Amritsar soon for a solution.
